A webinar was held with VERSO, an easy web based automation system with modular add-on capability.  The advanced data center has battery backup and alternate internet connections.  Patron data and bibliographic data can be imported and setup properly.  Training will be provided onsite.  Tech support is available from 8am to 8pm.  The patron user interface can be setup with content, graphics, message of the day, recently acquired books and jacket art (an additional cost of $800 for a year’s subscription).  Patrons can save recent searches, create lists (books they’ve read), email lists and can access the catalog site from home.  The staff site creates the patron user interface, handles circulation and cataloging and establishes staff privileges to the site.

Jessica Jahnke presented information on the Summer Reading program with a theme to be creative in the library and celebrate the arts with art & drawing and cartooning.  $150 is needed for prizes.
