File your taxes fast and free!

Mar 11, 2015 -

United Way and The Village for Families & Children, and many community agencies, are partnering once again in the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) campaign. The program helps working individuals and families, with annual incomes up to $53,000, get ahead financially, pay down debt, and save for the future.

In addition, individuals and families with incomes of up to $60,000 can file their taxes for free online, with assistance, at www.MyFreeTaxes.com.

More details are available at www.unitedwayinc.org/freetaxrefunds.

Last season, over 10,000 taxpayers were assisted by more than 300 IRS-certified volunteers in our community, resulting in $27.5 million in federal refunds and credits − money coming right back into our community.

Our VITA sites and MyFreeTaxes.com are open now through Tax Day, April 15. Sites are located throughout the region including in Hartford, Enfield, Manchester, New Britain, Vernon, West Hartford, Windsor Locks, and the Windham region.
