May 22, 2018 Town Budget Referendum Results

  1. “Shall the Town of Chaplin appropriate the sum of $8,407,506 for the General Government and Education Expenditures for Fiscal Year July 1, 2018 through June 30, 2019 as recommended by the Board of Finance?”  Yes=135, No=16.
  2. “May any horizontal curve sign installed by the State in the right of way of any Town road without prior objection by the Town, be removed by the Board of Selectmen upon citizen complaint, even if removal charges may be applied, and litigation and even Town liability are possible if an accident occurs near a point of removal?” Yes=57, No=93, Blank=1

Historic District Commission

The Chaplin Historic District was created in 1974 to preserve the unique qualities of its fine architecture and its cultural and historic roots. We hope the information provided on our website will clarify some of the procedures that must be followed by Historic District property owners in accord with our Town Ordinance and Connecticut State statutes. If you have questions about Historic District procedures or about projects you are considering, please do not hesitate to contact the chair or any other member of the Historic District Commission. We are eager to work with you.
