Tower Hill Road Bridge was replaced this summer buy the Chaplin DPW with the help of a few local contractors. The original stone abutments were left in place with new reinforced concrete abutments poured in place behind them. This leaves a natural stone façade and the stream bed untouched. The old rusted out deck was replaced with an engineered galvanized prefab unit that was then protected with an impermeable membrane that was then paved over. The only part of the project left to complete are the approach guardrails and top hand rails but we expect to have them installed in the next couple of weeks.
