TRANSFER STATION - WINTER HOURS
Due to the low volume of visits during the winter at the Transfer Station, it will be closed every other week starting 1/2/2021.
The Transfer Station will be CLOSED on the following days: 1/2/2021; 1/16/2021;
1/30/2021; 2/13/2021; 2/27/2021
NOTE: It will be open weekly starting the first week of March on 3/6/2021 every Saturday from 9am-4pm.
The duties of the Conservation Commission include rebuilding & preserving natural resources through flood control, land use planning water quality & preservation within the town of Chaplin. Members of the Conservation Commission are appointed by the Board of Selectmen.

The Conservation Commission meets every 3rd Wednesday of the month at 7pm in the Chaplin Town Hall.
Duties of the Conservation Commission
Keep an index of all open areas, publicly or privately owned, including open marshlands,swamps and other wetlands, for the purpose of obtaining information on the proper use of such areas,
Conduct research into the utilization and possible utilization of land areas of the municipality,
Administer gifts in the name of the municipality for the commission's purposes subject to the terms of the gift,
Approve, prior to submission, state grant-in-aid applications for programs to preserve or restrict the use of open space land to conservation or recreation purposes.
Keep records of its meetings and activities and shall make an annual report to the municipality in the manner required of other municipal agencies
