The Roles of the Superintendent and Principal

The Superintendent of Schools serves as the school district’s chief executive officer and implements board policy. He or she evaluates and manages the school Principal, oversees the district’s budget, and manages the business office, technology manager, and other central office functions.

The Principal is the instructional leader of the school and is responsible for guiding the implementation of state curriculum.  The Principal also staffs the building, including making classroom and duty assignments; manages teacher and staff performance; and manages all aspects of the day-to-day operation of the school.
