The Town of Chaplin, Connecticut will receive sealed bids for "North Bear Hill Road Intersection Realignment at Phoenixville Road (Route 198)" project until 2:00 p.m. local time on February 24, 2022 in Town Hall in the First Selectman's Office, which is located at 495 Phoenixville Road, Chaplin, Connecticut 06235, after which no bids will be accepted and at which time and place they will be publicly opened and read aloud at 2:15 p.m. Bids must be sealed and marked" North Bear Hill Road Intersection Realignment at Phoenixville Road (Route 198)." Bid packets will be available at Town Hall for pick-up and on the Town website starting Monday, January 24th at 9:00 a.m. or via email at assistant@chaplinct.org
A pre-bid conference to review the project will be held at Chaplin Town Hall, 495 Phoenixville Road, Chaplin, Connecticut, Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. All prospective bidders are urged to attend.

Education Surveys will be picked up from the Town Clerks in each town on Thursday, November 17, between 2 and 3 PM.
The Boards of Education for the school districts of Chaplin, Hampton, Scotland and Regional School District 11 are nearing the end of entering data provided on the survey, "Survey for the Chaplin, Hampton, Scotland and Regional District Eleven Boards of Education". Thank you for sharing your insights and choices.
NOTE: Due to the lengthy agenda the Town meeting will be held earlier this year, starting at 6PM.
*At its meeting held on April 26, 2017 the Board of Selectmen voted, pursuant to CGS § 7-7, that items #5 and #13 of the Call of the Annual Town Meeting be submitted to a referendum vote at an Adjourned Town Meeting to be held May 16, 2017 at the Chaplin Firehouse, 106 Phoenixville Road (Rte. 198) in said Chaplin from 12:00 Noon to 8:00 P.M. The question on item #13 shall be advisory only, and the result not legally binding. The questions on the ballot label at said referendum shall read as follows:
2. “Should the Board of Selectmen enter a contract with the Connecticut State Police for a Resident State Trooper to serve the Town from July 1, 2017 to June 30, 2019?”
Absentee ballots shall be available as provided by law to persons applying in person at the office of the Town Clerk during its regular business hours. Copies of the proposed Annual Town Budget and the proposed Ordinances and Resolution are available for inspection in the Office of the Town Clerk.

Chaplin School Readiness and Quality Enhancement Request for Proposals

The Town of Chaplin is soliciting proposals for the development and/ or operation of School Readiness Programs or contracted spaces for three and four year old children for early care and education in Chaplin. Proposals are being solicited pursuant to Sec. 10-16o. – 10-16r and Sec. 10-16t. – 10-16u. CGS and amendments under PA 99-230, the School Readiness and Child Day Care Grant Program. Programs and services must meet local School Readiness Council policies. The town is also soliciting proposals for The Quality Enhancement Grant pursuant to CGS Sec. 17b-749c, Quality Enhancement Grant Program. Programs and/or services are from July 1, 2017 – June 30, 2018.

At their meeting on April 11, 2017, the Regional District #11 Board of Education voted to send the vote on the FY 17-18 budget to referendum on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 during the hours of 12:00 noon – 8:00 p.m. at each respective town’s polling places. The budget figure to be voted on is $6,397,047.

The Town of Chaplin is making available a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the Quality Enhancement Program for the period July 1, 2018 – June 30, 2019. The purpose of the Quality Enhancement Grant Program is to provide funding for School Readiness programs that focus on education and early care that addresses the School Readiness Quality Components and /or expands comprehensive services for children and families.
Chaplin is specifically seeking qualified individuals or agencies that can deliver training and technical assistance related, but not limited to, topics such as creating a supportive trauma informed culture to support children and families, and building resiliency for children. Services provided for coaching and professional development may be dispersed over various consultants and is pending grant funds.
